About Us

Team | Effort | Commitment

Oppie Tong Af / On the Tip of Your Tongue is a national youth leadership and skills- development project that helps young people find their voices through public speaking.

Open to learners in Grades 1 to 12, the project provides a platform to build confidence, express ideas and develop skills that support success at school, in the workplace and in their communities. We equip and empower teachers, parents and coaches with the tools and support to guide learners throughout their development. Because it takes a village to raise a child, we bring communities together and embrace a pay-it-forward approach.

Implemented annually since 2015, Oppie Tong Af/ On The Tip Of Your Tongue continues to grow. We believe every young person has the potential to become a confident communicator and an impactful leader. Our aim is to help learners discover that potential, speak with purpose and prepare them to become movers and shakers in our country.

Accessibility, inclusion and sustainability are central to our work. Young people should be able to participate regardless of their social background. We do not discriminate; we strive to create opportunities where every learner feels welcome and able to develop. We are also committed to building long-lasting solutions that extend the project’s impact.

Technology helps us reach more young people, but it also prepares them for the modern world. By embracing digital tools, we help learners strengthen the communication, leadership and workplace skills they will need to thrive in an increasingly digital era.

We help the youth of the country find their voices and use them to shape the future.
